Teaser [Meaning] - MasterTerms.com

Teaser

A teaser is a type of sports bet that allows bettors to adjust the point spread in their favor for multiple games. This means that you can move the spread in your favor for two or more selections, typically by 6, 6.5, or 7 points, which increases your chances of winning but lowers the payout compared to a standard bet.

In a teaser, you combine two or more games and alter the point spread, making it easier to win each bet. For example, if you have a game where Team A is favored to win by 7 points and Team B is favored to win by 4 points, a teaser might allow you to adjust Team A’s line to just win by 1 point and Team B’s line to just win by 0.5 points. While this gives you a better chance of winning both bets, the payout is typically reduced because the risk is lower.

Teaser Example

For example, if you choose a two-team teaser, and you have Team A at -7 and Team B at -4, moving the lines to -1 and +0.5 respectively may increase your likelihood of winning both bets, but your payout would be less than if you had placed two separate standard bets on each team.
