Resplit [Meaning] - MasterTerms.com

Resplit

A resplit in Blackjack refers to the act of splitting pairs more than once if the player is dealt another card of the same value after the initial split.

In Blackjack, when a player is dealt a pair of cards of the same rank, they can choose to split them into two separate hands. If the player receives another card of the same rank in one of the newly split hands, some casinos allow the player to resplit, creating additional hands. This option increases the player’s chances to win but also involves higher risk as the player must place another bet for each resplit hand.

Resplit Example

For example, if a player is dealt two 8s and splits them, then receives another 8 on one of the hands, the player can choose to resplit, creating a third hand to play.
