Hijack [Meaning] - MasterTerms.com

Hijack

A position at the poker table, located two seats to the right of the dealer.

The hijack position is considered advantageous because it allows players to act relatively late in the betting round, giving them more information about the actions of others. Players in this position often have the opportunity to raise and steal the blinds, especially if the players in later positions, like the cutoff or button, show weakness by folding. It is considered one of the more strategic spots at the table due to the flexibility it offers.

Hijack Example

For example, in a Texas Hold’em game, if you are in the hijack position and everyone before you folds, you can raise to pressure the blinds and possibly steal them.
