Fill Up [Meaning] - MasterTerms.com

Fill Up

Fill Up is a poker term used to describe a hand where a player has made a full house by drawing a pair to a three-of-a-kind hand.

In poker, a full house consists of three cards of one rank and two cards of another rank. A “fill up” occurs when a player with three of a kind on the board or in their hand receives a second pair from the community cards, completing their full house. This term is often associated with situations where a player needs just one specific card to complete their full house, highlighting the strategy and luck involved in drawing the right cards.

Fill Up Example

For example, in a game of Texas Hold’em, you have three 7s in your hand and the flop shows two 5s. If the turn or river brings another 5, you now have a full house (sevens full of fives), which is considered a “fill up.”
