Court Card [Meaning] - MasterTerms.com

Court Card

A Court Card in Baccarat refers to any face card, specifically the King, Queen, or Jack, which holds a value of zero in the game.

In Baccarat, the Court Cards, along with tens, are considered to have no value, contributing to the total hand value of a player’s or banker’s hand. The game is primarily played with six or eight decks of cards, and the goal is to get a hand total closest to nine. When counting hand values, Court Cards do not add any points, which means that their presence can influence the strategy but not the numerical total.

Court Card Example

For example, if a player has a hand consisting of a King and a 6, the total value of their hand is 6, since the King counts as 0.
