Come-Out [Meaning] - MasterTerms.com

Come-Out

The Come-Out is the initial roll of the dice in a game of Craps, which determines the next phase of the betting round.

During the Come-Out roll, players place their bets on the Pass Line or Don’t Pass Line. If the shooter rolls a 7 or 11, Pass Line bets win, and Don’t Pass bets lose. If a 2, 3, or 12 is rolled, Pass Line bets lose, and Don’t Pass bets win (12 is a push). If any other number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10) is rolled, that number becomes the “point,” and the game transitions to the next phase, where the goal is to roll the point number again before rolling a 7.

Come-Out Example

For example, if a player bets on the Pass Line and the shooter rolls a 7 on the Come-Out roll, the player wins their bet. Conversely, if a 3 is rolled, the player loses their bet.
