Bring-in Poker [Meaning] - MasterTerms.com

Bring-in Poker [BI]

A bring-in is a forced bet made by the player with the lowest upcard in games like Seven-Card Stud.

In certain poker variants, such as Seven-Card Stud, the bring-in occurs after the initial deal, where the player with the lowest-ranking face-up card is required to make a small bet to start the action. This differs from the traditional blinds used in other poker games, as it forces a specific player, rather than a rotating position, to start the betting round.

Bring-in Poker Example

For example, in a Seven-Card Stud game, if one player is dealt a 2 of hearts as their lowest upcard, they would be forced to make the bring-in bet, starting the action for that round.
