In Blackjack, players try to get as close to 21 as possible without going over. If the total value of their hand surpasses 21, they “break” or “bust,” and the dealer automatically wins that round, regardless of the dealer’s cards. Breaking occurs when a player’s combination of cards adds up to more than 21 due to drawing too many cards or being dealt high-value cards early on.
Break Example
For example, if a player is dealt a 10 and a 9, and then draws a 5, their hand totals 24, causing them to break.
