4Bet [Meaning] - MasterTerms.com

4Bet

A 4Bet is a fourth bet made in a sequence of raises during a poker hand.

It occurs when one player makes an initial bet (open raise), a second player re-raises (3Bet), and then another player re-raises again (4Bet). This action typically shows significant strength as multiple raises in a single hand often indicate premium holdings. In no-limit games, a 4Bet is usually larger and could either be for value (with a strong hand) or as a bluff in some advanced strategies.

4Bet Example

Example: In a game of No-Limit Texas Hold’em, Player A raises to 10 big blinds, Player B re-raises to 30 big blinds, and Player C 4Bets to 80 big blinds. This sequence is an example of a 4Bet.
